DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders may be ordered to rehab either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their substance abuse when they drive while under the influence down the road. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
