DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug treatment centers are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while under the influence down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
