Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any kind of alcohol and drug rehab center because of alcohol or drug related crime. This will occur for example when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or any other type of drug related offense that has led the judge to believe that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol rehab program that is ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
