DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
