Often, parents and other adults can spot signs that a teen is involved in drug abuse and might require help long before the problem becomes extreme. The biggest thing would be to intervene right away, and never delay until the issue is more serious, and in doing so many negative consequences could be avoided. Teen drug addiction treatment may either be provided inside a drug treatment center which treats clients of any age, or in an alcohol and drug treatment program which specifically addresses teen drug addiction. The latter is usually preferred, as this will ensure that the individual receives the right level of care and that rehabilitation professionals can focus on the demands of these youths which might be completely different than their older counterparts. There are a variety of different settings in which teen drug addiction treatment can occur, including therapeutic communities, residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities, wilderness centers, and in many cases boot camp type centers. Teen drug addiction treatment will generally include one-on-one counseling, group therapy with their peers, and many different rehab services aimed at addressing the difficulties and issues which relate to a teen's life in particular.
