DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug treatment centers are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
