Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehab program due to alcohol or drug related offense. This will happen for instance if a person is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to believe the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered by the court it's well advised that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be entirely eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug rehabilitation program that has been ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do experience treatment in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
