DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while drunk or high later on. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
