Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug rehab facility on account of alcohol or drug related offense. This will occur for example when someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related crime that has led the court to believe that the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the judge it's strongly advised that the individual try everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences might be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug rehab program that has been ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do experience treatment instead of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
