Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of alcohol and drug treatment program because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example when someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to think the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered by the judge it is well advised that the individual do everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug rehabilitation center which was ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
