Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of drug and alcohol treatment program on account of alcohol or drug related crime. This can occur for example when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to believe the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug treatment center as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they are able to to get the most from this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the drug treatment facility which was ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who experience rehab instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
