DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol rehab facilities are generally there by their own choice, but generally in drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be required to go to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for substance abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their substance abuse should they drive while intoxicated down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
