DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in alcohol and drug treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence down the road. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
