Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment center due to alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for example if a person is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime that has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be totally eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the drug and alcohol treatment center which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who take part in rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences.
