DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug rehab facilities are either there by their own choice, but usually in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of remaining out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
