DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug abuse should they drive while under the influence down the road. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
