Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab program on account of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for example when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to believe that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered from the judge it's well advised that the individual try everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that take part in rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences.
