DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in alcohol and drug rehab facilities are generally there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse if they drive while drunk or high later on. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
