Outpatient treatment gives treatment clients the opportunity to maintain certain responsibilities and aspects of their way of life while getting involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate amount of treatment, and shouldn't be mistaken for the level of rehab offered within an inpatient or residential rehab setting which is much more intensive. Outpatient treatment could be well suited for anyone who has a brief history of drug abuse for instance, but will almost certainly not be adequate for somebody whose treatment needs go beyond what outpatient treatment is prepared to provide. Individuals involved in drug abuse often require a considerable environmental change, because most of the things which trigger their drug and alcohol use are strictly environmental. For instance, if someone else is being physically or emotionally abused and this is triggering their drug abuse, there is no way for any rehabilitation efforts to have success whenever they go back to such circumstances on a regular basis. In outpatient treatment, clients can engage in group and individual therapy, in addition to family therapy services. In outpatient treatment, most programs offer services five to seven days a week on either a part time or full time basis for thirty days or longer in some cases.
