DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug treatment facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use.
