DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehab due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be ordered to treatment either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their substance abuse if they drive while intoxicated down the road. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
