Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation facility due to alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone else is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to believe that the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the judge it's well advised that the individual try everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be totally eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the alcohol and drug rehab center which was ordered for them. First time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do experience treatment in place of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
