DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
