DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but usually in drug rehab as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders may be required to go to rehab either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their substance abuse should they drive while under the influence in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
