DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders might be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
