DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug rehabilitation due to a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
