Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any kind of alcohol and drug rehabilitation center on account of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will happen for example if a person is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to believe the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they can to benefit from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences might be entirely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol rehab center that has been ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
