Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug treatment program because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will happen for instance when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense that has led the judge to think the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they are able to to take full advantage of this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehab.
