Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation program as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or any other kind of drug related offense that has led the court to believe that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab program as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences might be totally eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehab center that is ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do experience treatment instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
