DUI/DWI clients who are involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
