DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol treatment as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for substance abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their substance abuse should they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
