DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
