DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab facilities are either there by their own choice, but usually in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be ordered to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse if they drive while intoxicated later on. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
