DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their substance abuse whenever they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
