Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug treatment program because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for instance when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to believe the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be totally eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug rehab facility which was ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
