Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol treatment program because of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This can occur for instance when someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other type of drug related offense which has led the court to think the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered through the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehab center which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who experience rehab in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehabilitation.
