Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug rehabilitation program as a result of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for instance when someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug and alcohol rehab facility which was ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective treatment.
