Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment center as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will happen for instance if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related offense which has led a legal court to think that the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they're able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol treatment program that is ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who experience treatment instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
