DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could possibly be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of remaining out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their substance abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
