DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehabilitation programs are either there by their own choice, but usually in drug treatment due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be ordered to rehab either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This may truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high later on. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
