Often, parents as well as other adults can spot signs that a teen is involved with substance abuse and may require assistance a long time before the issue becomes severe. The important thing is to intervene without delay, and never wait until the problem is more pronounced, and in doing so many severe consequences may be avoided. Teen drug addiction treatment may either be provided inside a drug and alcohol treatment program which helps clients of any age, or even in a drug and alcohol treatment facility which specifically addresses teen drug addiction. The latter is obviously preferred, since this will make sure that the individual receives the correct volume of care and that treatment professionals can focus on the demands of these younger clients which might be different than their older counterparts. There are a variety of different facilities in which teen drug addiction treatment can take place, including therapeutic communities, residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities, wilderness programs, and in many cases boot camp type centers. Teen drug addiction treatment will usually include one-on-one therapy, group counseling along with their peers, and a variety of rehabilitation services targeted at addressing the challenges and issues which pertain to a teen's life particularly.
