Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a result of a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for example if someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related offense which has led the court to think the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the court it is well advised that the individual try everything they're able to to take full advantage of this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be completely eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug and alcohol rehab center which was ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehab instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences.
