DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could possibly be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
