DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there by their own choice, but usually in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of remaining out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
