DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be required to go to rehab either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for substance abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which set off their substance abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while drunk or high later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
