DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be required to go to treatment either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
