DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their substance abuse whenever they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
