DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
