Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation program because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for instance when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to think the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered through the judge it's well advised that the individual try everything they can to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehab and finishes the drug rehab facility which has been ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
