DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehabilitation centers are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of remaining out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these issues and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This may truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
